BASF and Leagas Delaney tapped into the talent of aspiring filmmakers to change perceptions around charging electric vehicles with “BASF x Filmaka” project.

We released three short films that demonstrate BASF’s commitment to supporting the production of car batteries that charge in 15 minutes, all the while highlighting their stance of being optimistic about the future. 

Leagas Delaney partnered with Filmaka, a global platform for aspiring filmmakers, to deliver their “15 Minute Pit Stops” brief focused on the unexpected joy and benefits of having fifteen minutes to yourself to
charge your car.

The young filmmakers submitted over 100 pitches, of which we chose 3 winners. The winners received a production budget of $15,000 to produce and deliver their short film.

The campaign is BASF’s response to the fact that despite electric cars having been painted as part of the solution to reducing global emissions, many people remain wary about their practicality due to a range of limitations, such as the time needed to charge the batteries.    

The full-length winning films are now being hosted on, with 30-second trailers running on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in 9 countries.
