POST 28/40 - TRUMAN BITTER 'NINE OUT OF TEN MEN'
1984. Truman’s was an East End beer at a time when Northern beers were deemed better. So we used Mike Reid as a Kray-like gangster to make sure people ‘preferred’ it.
We thought this campaign really took on the Northern bitters until the client, a posh, well brought up boy, decided he didn’t like the tone. So it only went out for one flight. Big pity – the brand would have had a very distinctive, true voice.
Client: Truman Bitter | Title: ‘Nine out of ten men’ | Office: London
