Leagas Delaney has hired Strategy Director Tom Pinnock as they continue to drive their transformative rocket ship.
Tom is one of the modern industry’s most revolutionary planners and has spent over a decade delivering work that changes businesses. He started his career as one of five fellows on the illustrious Ogilvy Fellowship and spent six years at the group working at OgilvyOne, Coley Porter Bell, Ogilvy & Mather and OgilvyRED, Ogilvy’s global consulting community, where he gained a solid understanding of how an idea can really change business. Tom has created strategies for iconic brands such as BP, IKEA, Dove, BA, Philips and Nespresso. He believes his role is to solve client’s business problem, rather than only deliver a marketing or communications objective.
During his time at McCann Worldgroup, as part of Nestlé’s Global Brand Strategy team, he worked to define the global strategic platform for his portfolio of brands and help local markets turn these platforms into solutions for their most pressing business issues.
The highlight of his time at McCann Worldgroup was defining a strategy for a dwindling frozen Italian pizza brand that turned its industrial mass-production from something damaging into a progressive and differentiated big idea that could influence every part of its marketing, far beyond communications.
Tom’s approach is to interrogate a brand’s history, DNA and purpose with the aim of producing simple yet powerful ideas for clients that drive growth without eulogising or hyperbolising a brand’s role in society or in people’s lives.
Most recently at iris Worldwide, Tom has led the planning on Wickes, Nectar, Nescafé Original and Nestlé Waters. His strategic leadership has sought to transform Wickes from category led TV advertising to a set of behaviours and products that differentiate the brand and make a meaningful difference to the way we think about and value our homes.

Ellen Chng has joined as Operations Director. Having spent years running digital and operations departments across London agencies, like BBH and Saint London, and establishing Critical Mass’s office in Asia-Pacific, Ellen is now a master of delivery. She will provide overall direction to all disciplines within Leagas Delaney, with the aim to deliver an excellent standard of marketing services specific to clients’ needs. Ellen brings a depth of digital first experience to the agency too, using her expertise to execute digital transformations. With her experience is Asia-Pacific, she brings a new perspective to the agency having said “in Asia, you get a glimpse of the future”. Ellen intends to bring this mindset to Leagas Delaney so it is “truly the agency of the future”.
Sonia Lal and Sean Cullivan join the agency as a Creative Team, bringing their digital and activation-led skills to Leagas Delaney. Most recently at the London-based social agency Splendid Communications, Sonia and Sean are rooted in digital knowledge, implementing these skills in previous campaigns for Jack Daniel’s, Tesco, Red Bull and Barclays. While at Isobel, they created a dating app for bacon, Rindr, as part of Danepak Bacon’s digital strategy. The pair joined Leagas Delaney because “when we were studying advertising, one name popped up a lot – Tim Delaney. The opportunity to learn from a legend like him is one we couldn’t pass up”. The team aim to give Leagas Delaney a new outlook on work from a digital creative standpoint.
Leagas Delaney has invested further in our digital capabilities and hired a brilliant creative team Charli Plant and Laura Saraiva. While at their previously agency Fallon, they created big campaigns for brands Cadbury, Skoda, Hovis and Expedia. The pair said, “The power of junior talent is not to be underestimated, and when it joins forces with Leagas Delaney’s strong traditional history, it’s a unique and powerful combination”.
Chris Meaton and Cristina Vant add to the depth of Leagas Delaney’s creative talent with their innovation approach to the industry. Previously the lead Creative Team for Kastner & Partners’ Red Bull account, Chris and Cristina approach advertising with a “daring spirit”. They use new technology and social insights to create smart solutions for clients, while leaving them with ads to make their consumer think “I’ve never thought about it that way before”.
