Founded in 1980, Leagas Delaney is an owner-managed and privately-held independent Agency, with 36 years of experience in building and managing international Brands. Creating business value for Clients through rigorous thinking and outstanding creative lies at the heart of its Agency ethos. The Agency and its people are impassioned believers in putting the creative work first – above all else. The Agency is renowned for creating beautifully crafted advertising (much of which is award-winning) for countless clients including Patek Philippe, Glenfiddich, Penfolds, Ecco, Lil-Lets, The Savoy, Value Retail and Avon. A number of its Client’s come from the Luxury sector. Most recently it’s won business for a number of high profile German accounts – one of which is BASF. The London office acts as Global HQ to a micro network of offices located in Shanghai, Milan, Hamburg and LA. There are approximately 70 people in the London office working across all disciplines.
Agency Services: Insights, Research & Metrics, Brand Strategy & Development, Communication Planning, 360 Integrated Ideas, ATL: TV, Print, OOH, Design: Brand Identity & Logo Creation, Trade: Sales, Promotions & In-store Retail, Experiential: Retail Events, Digital (incl. BASF, with Global Headquarters in Ludwigshafen (Germany), is the largest chemical producer in the world. Their products are sold to well-known companies in a wide variety of sectors – ranging from automotive to beauty. These companies in turn manufacture the everyday consumer products that touch and enrich our daily lives.
BASF’s purpose is to ‘create chemistry for a sustainable future’ and the Agency is tasked with humanising and emotionalising the Brand and its communication to help boost awareness of what BASF do, their products as well as the company’s wider contribution to society. The communication opportunity for the Agency is therefore as much B2C as it is B2B.
BASF is primarily an ATL account involving TV, Print, Outdoor, Digital (incl. Social Engagement & Mobile) with Live Event projects to follow (e.g. installations, events and activations). However, since BASF do not manufacture consumer facing products, communicating the company’s offering takes the form of storytelling around a series of end benefits based on specific “proof points” e.g. the story of the benefits of Cleaner Air told via the proof point of BASF’s Catalytic Converters or the story of the benefit of electricity withstanding severe weather conditions such as storms and blizzards in remote countries told via the proof point of BASF’s unique utility poles which bend and flex. There are also a number of strategic work streams involving research and competitive monitoring which require mature handling and rigorous thinking.
